If you’re from the Northeast, chances are you’ve come across Choc Nibbles - the bite-sized chocolate favourite made in Ashington by Sweetdreams. For more than 30 years the Northumberland-based business has been creating chocolate treats enjoyed by customers across the UK. With the opening of a new 45,000sqft manufacturing facility on Jubilee Industrial Estate, Sweetdreams is entering an exciting new chapter of growth. The move to the larger factory has created space for expanded production areas, increased warehouse capacity and improved staff facilities. New equipment and an additional packing line are helping the company boost production as it grows its product range and explores new markets. At the heart of it all is Choc Nibbles - the original “wonky chocolate” treat, created to rescue chocolate that’s perfectly imperfect. Today it remains a much-loved favourite, captured by the playful line: “saving chocolate, one nibble at a time.” The new facility has been made possible through investment from the SugaRich Group, alongside support from Advance Northumberland. Together, this investment is helping the business increase its manufacturing capability while safeguarding jobs and creating new opportunities in Ashington. Alongside producing great treats, the business champions a simple idea: food stays food. By making the most of valuable ingredients and ensuring good food is used responsibly, Sweetdreams and SugaRich are helping to lead a smarter, more sustainable approach to food production. Proudly based in Northumberland, Sweetdreams combines local heritage with fresh ideas - creating great treats while helping shape the future of food manufacturing in the region.
